  • Beautiful Spot

An amazingly place! The resort was great, we had a deluxe room with amazing views and a balcony to enjoy them from. The room was very clean and comfortable, it came with a good sized mini fridge, so we took breakfast and lunch food with us (bbqs are available, take your own equipment to use) and we bought dinner each night. The main resort centre is a bit hit and miss, feels a bit like a canteen and food options are okay. Fire and Stone was a disaster, we gave up waiting for a table after being totally ignored at the front of the line for over 10 mins, the two couples behind us also left. The beach is magnificent, the water is the colour in the photos. It felt a world away from Brisbane. Can’t wait to return.

  • Great Snorkelling!

We visited with friends in early January and primarily was there as we love the snorkelling. Without a doubt the snorkelling, beaches and overall scenery is extremely impressive! A must see! However, while we think the location is fantastic, for the money per night you are paying ($300 - standard hotel room), there was no included breakfast and rooms are quite dated now. For $250- $300pn you can get 5 star in Thailand and Bali. The resort facilities need a lot of work, games area, tennis courts, pools need to be all re done.Beach bar would be a good inclusion, similar to the Sunset bar at Couran Cove.

  • Stunning location, overpriced resort

The island is absolutely gorgeous and a wonderful holiday for the family. However, we'd seriously think twice about staying again due to the resort. The beachside villa was old, had incredibly thin walls and our neighbours on both sides played a lot of loud music, had mould growing in the bathroom and the toilet stank. That's fine if it's marketed as a cheap motel, but the resort is really expensive! Despite the beautiful location, when I compare to pricing for other Queensland islands, I feel really ripped off. This super expensive self-catering beachside "villa" provided absolutely nothing in the way of amenities - a public toilet type soap dispenser, no salt or pepper, olive oil etc for the kitchen and very limited pots and pans, cheap toilet paper and no beach towels. You can have to sweep the floors, empty your own bins and do your own dishes on departure.

  • Family Tangalooma experience

Had a lovely time at Tangalooma in a Family suite. Take your own food to save money and use the kitchen provided. Was good having separate room for adults. Note the dispensers for soap/lotion/shaving cream is at toddler height in the bathroom - also, the shower door can be a hazard for little hands. All staff very friendly and helpful, loved the Marine boat tour with the kids. Sand dunes and dolphins also good but harder/more dangerous with young children. Pools also a bit cool. Food vouchers provided in lieu of breakfast buffet was great with regards to flexibility to spend wherever throught the day. Overall a lovely place for a family trip.

  • Won’t return

Resort was not a nice room at all, there was sand in our bathroom and hair on our pillow when we arrived. The shower screeched like a kettle about to go off the whole time you used it, my niece who has hearing problems couldn’t even stand it after taking her hearing aids out because it was that loud! The food was below average and so overpriced. No water taps or bubblers anywhere and when I asked staff where to get water I was told to fill it up in the bathrooms which is gross, otherwise you have to buy it incredibly overpriced for a bottle. The Chinese restaurant had The rudest service, hugely overpriced and barely edible food. The actual island is beautiful so it’s really a shame going to a resort thinking it will be luxurious treatment especially when you pay a lot only to be incredibly disappointed. We did really enjoy the dolphin feeding and the ship wreck tour. Camping would be a much better option tho.

  • Good but needs updating

Wow - what a beautiful location. Such massive potential, but just a shame that the resort feels a bit outdated. The pools felt like they were from a motel, and the playground was tiny. The ping pong tables and basketball court was basically just a slab of concrete. Little things like charging meals to the room involved me needing a room key and saying my full name and address of the property 5 times. The buffet breakfast felt clinical, and was totally overpriced. Just doesn't seem to have the same standards/facilities as other resorts. We stayed at a house and the sliding door to one of the bedrooms on the second level had a metre gap before the railings started. We had to keep the doors closed in case one of three toddlers in the house fell threw the gap. There was also no aircon in the house which was a massive issue being summer in QLD! To save costs, they could at least install one aircon in the main lounge area.
