Mixed Reviews for the Hydroponic System

I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner! This process to get started was very easy. Im excited to see how much they grow overnight and during the day. It’s amazing and sis I say easy?

It is amazing! Does exactly as advertised. The unit comes with everything need to start growing other than the seeds. It is very easy to setup and get growing. The attached picture is about 1.5 months after planting. The fan is so quiet I thought it wasn’t working at first. The light selector is great to switch between different plant types. Very compact and doesn’t take up much counter space. Water retention is great and maybe needs topped off every 2-3 weeks. Highly recommend.

This thing is great! Have it right next to the cook top and fresh herbs on demand. Easy to use and produces like crazy. Get one.

I am probably spoiled by the aero garden because I found the tank system rather unwieldy, plus the frequency of water changing inconvenient. All of that is fine, just personal preference, EXCEPT for the light issue

For some reason, every plant I grew in here failed to grow directly upright and straight. When my Aerogarden was next to it, the plants inside this unit all angles themselves in the direction of the aero garden’s grow light instead.

Maybe I should try something like spinach which doesn’t thrive on the aero garden (due to heat) and see how it turns out.

That said, it’s half the price.

I liked this unit at first and it helped me get the summer garden started however I am trying to use it for fall planting and it doesn't have power for the pump or lights. I have cleaned the inside of the tank, sponge filters and finally took the two screws out of the bottom to find the power unit had water sitting in it, there is rust on some of the parts as well. Seems that the unit is not waterproof AND allows for water to leak from the tank into the power unit. I did not overfill the water tank. I have used cotton swabs to clean the electronics board and power cords but still no power.

There is only a 30 day warranty, I can't exchange it receive a refund, buyer beware.

IMPOSSIBLE TO GET REPLACEMENT FOR FRAGILE TANK COVER because the posted information merely states that replacement and return time have passed. I only wanted to purchase a replacement cover, but no contact is possible or available

Within a matter of a week, I had plants. They are thriving so beautifully. I've already cut herbs and it just keeps growing. Love this. I ordered another.

I purchased two of these for my parents. They worked really well until one stopped working. Customer service was great in responding in a timely manner, sent a new lamp in hopes of solving the issue with the one non-working unit, but when that still didn’t work they sent me a refund right away for the entire unit. The other unit is still working great. Both purchased approximately four months ago.

The growth of the plants is not as fast as indicated in the videos. It depends on many other factors, such as the temperature, light, and humidity of the place where you install the device.

 I’ve only had this product for a week and I’m so happy that I ordered it. In two days my yellow watermelon seeds sprouted and I wasn’t expecting anything to grow that quick. Kids love it as well and get excited every morning to check the seed growth.

My first batch really took off. It was fun to watch, until they tried to grow above the light panel. After pruning them many times, I tried to repot them. Within a week all were dead. I drained the container cleaned it and the pump and decided to try a second batch. It's been two weeks and nothing is growing, now the pump seems to have given up the ghost. I plan to get another pump and try again.

Used it for 3 days. Day 4 the fan and pump stopped working.

My friend had one of these when she was overseas so I decided to get. I was a bit skeptical but it's working out good so far when. I received the item the box had oil stains on the outside,I assumed the item was damaged on the inside, but it wasn't.
So far I've planted crunch lettuce butter lettuce and some peppers and butter lettuce has started growing already within about 1 weeks. Per the instruction it say you should see Growth within 4 weeks but so far it's only been about 1 weeks and the lettuce is growing, but the peppers hasn't started growing yet The instruction says if it's vegetables then the light will be on for 16hrs on and 8hr off. The light can be very bright though.

I have had the IDoo system for two weeks and 8 of 12 pods have already sprouted with 7 different seed types. Much easier to use than trying to monitor water needs in soil, plus plant food is evenly distributed through the growing medium (water). I will be purchasing another unit to expand the variety of herbs I want.

Something not included in the item description is a drainage hole at the bottom of the unit for cleaning purposes. They do include a rubber stopper to plug it with but I don't trust it enough to put anywhere in my house. It just seems like water damage waiting to happen and doesn't feel like a feature that's even needed. No wonder the instructions say not to put it anywhere you'd worry about water damage. I never used the unit and just sent it back so i can't comment on how it functions. I will say that the plastic feels a bit flimsy and easily broken compared to my 3 aerogardens.

Had lettuce, kale, broccoli done in the first few weeks!! This little thing is a powerhouse - easy to setup and the app is suprisingly easy to use. Supplies are cheap/easy to obtain, (you can even use a sponge cut up!) Overall - Great product!!

I own 6 of these and love them. I've owned other brands, but like these best. Most of the time I grow basil, but have grown everything from lettuce to flowers. Some things that will help: 1. Make sure you trim the roots every so often. 2. Doing a "reset" every 3-6 months is a good idea. Take the whole thing apart and scrub it down. 3. If you get gnats or other small insects, mist with a mixture of water and a few tbs of dawn soap, maybe throw in a bit of neem oil as well. 4. Make sure you trim your plants. If things get too tall, they will burn when getting too close to the lights.

Updated. Company came through finally and offered replacement parts. Which worked.

Lasted a couple of months then fried.

Tried to contact the seller because they offer a 1 year warranty but they do not respond to my multiple messages.

Don’t buy this bs

Solid design. I was able to start some seeds that a friend wasn't able to using traditional methods! My only gripe is that you're given just enough accessories (sponges, lid-stickers, plastic lid domes, etc.) to use the whole thing once. I know they sell extras, but it would be nice if extra came with the station so you didn't have to turn around and immediately order more.

Also, the light is SUPER bright! It would be nice if it came with some kind of curtain to contain the brightness. I ended up buying some stick-on velcro strips and fabric that I'll use to put up a curtain around it.

Let me preface this brief review by saying that I am new to hydroponics but NOT new to gardening or plants in general.

I had been on the fence about trying hydroponics for a while. As an avid gardener I always that these systems were a) part hype, and b) almost a way of “cheating” on the normal growing process. As the normal planting season started to wind down I found myself wanting to find a way to keep on sprouting, so I decided it was time to start playing with hydroponics.

I researched hydroponic garden systems for quite a while before deciding to try iDoo. My search started with the better-known brand, but as I learned more I found that the features I was most interested in were available at a much more reasonable price point. I decided that this system had everything I needed to start playing with hydroponic gardening.

I couldn’t be more thrilled with my decision! Long story short, in less than a month I went from owning one unit to my current setup of FOUR machines. I will never give up on my love for traditional gardening (or for succulents and other types of plants) but I am incredibly happy that I continue to grow some of my favorite things all year round now!

A few of my favorite features:

1. Germination and growth really does happen at at accelerated rate - even in comparison to proper greenhouse conditions. I have used my iDoo machines successfully grow herbs and veggies from seed - and I have also transferred other seedlings into the sponges with great results as well (although this method requires more skill and effort.)

2. The water reservoir (in the 6.5 L model) is larger and deeper than those of most systems at a comparable price point.

3. Most off-brand pods and accessories are compatible with this system - which means you can shop around and save money on replacement parts if you are so inclined.

4. The app, although basic, is useful if you need to modify your light schedule for any reason whatsoever.

Cons - albeit minor ones:

1. It is hard to modify the lighting schedule for the non-smart version of this garden.

2. It is much easier to see the water level, and visualize your plants’ roots system (with the help of a flashlight or by lifting the tray) in the white model.

3. I wish these kits had included the trellis, which I had to purchase separately, or any kind of external supports to use for plants that grow rapidly - which will be most! I have seen these kinds of accessories included in much cheaper kits, and they would be a very useful addition to iDoo’s systems without costing the manufacturer much at all!

If you are seriously considering this system - just buy it! It is built well, works as expected, and easy enough to be used by gardeners of every skill level.

(Side note: if you plan to grow basil, tomatoes or any other kind of root-happy plant - buy the 6.5 L version!)

Gifted to one of my friends. He loves it.

Got this as a birthday gift for my grandparents last month, unit was defective right out of the box won’t power on. They called support number and was provided no assistance since they do not have an order number, not even one troubleshooting that they could at least try to fix it over the phone, also told them would require videos and pictures to proof that unit is indeed dead out of the box. Oh come on, they are too old to learn how to attach videos in email.This company has poor quality control and make their customers go through complicated procedures to get a working product when we have paid already. Such a hassle, now that my return window has closed, I probably have to wait til my next visit to get the crap back and take those god damn videos and pictures. And now I really regret that I have recommended this brand to a couple of my friends.
