Great in concept, but app is so buggy itâs barely usable.
I keep getting emails indicating they are from you but with different emails when I check the email sender. So confusing. Donât want to trust any emails from McAfee. How will I know an email is from you and not a scammer or fisher?
Downloaded the app and finalized my prescription for premium on my iPhone but when accessing the app to create an account it says that âsafari canât open the page because too many redirects occuredâ
How am I supposed to have access to it if I canât even create an account?
I had Mcaffee in the past, decided to download and paid for one month, right after paying it ask me to log in and the app âforgetsâ I just made the payment for full access. I found a workaround but it requires me to not use an account which locks me out from certain features. Beside that, the few things that work, seem to work just fine.
The promise of managing online data breaches by automatically contacting data brokers and requesting them to stop selling info was NEVER fulfilled. Annoying popup requesting runtime app update still persisted until I finally decided enough was enough. (6 lengthy phone calls finally convinced me) NOWâ because I spent too much time and tolerated too many issuesâ my request for REFUND has been REFUSED. So much for â Personal Protection Promise.â Anyone considering McAfee may wish to look elsewhere
I just downloaded McAfee protection premium app on the App Store at 11am. It scanned my identity and found the data breach. However it wouldn't let me email the logs to myself. Then I logged in again and it said that it didn't recognize my password or email. I got error code 424. So I called the McAfee support and spoke with Pedro (12:13pm)who transferred me to Pria who had me send her the screenshots of my purchase confirmation from my iCloud account. I did. She still couldn't find my account so she asked me to download the app logmein so that she could remotely access my phone. I did. Then she asked me for the first six numbers and the last four numbers of the credit card that I used to purchase it. I gave it to her. I also told her that because she was accessing my phone remotely and I gave her the card information that now I will have to cancel the brand new card I got from my bank . She kept saying don't worry I will figure this out. After another 30 minutes with her asking me to remove the downloaded app from my phone and then reinstall it (4x). She still couldn't figure out what happened. I asked for a supervisor and she didn't transfer me for another 30 minutes. Then at 1:14pm she transferred me to "Laura/Flor" who was a second tier technician she tried the same stuff as Pria already did. Then she asked me to forward her screenshots of my purchase again. She was unable to find it in their system again. She then told me that she would leave the case open for a few days and give me a call back sometime in the next few days. My call ended with her at 1:48pm. This was a remote login session the entire time. I asked if they would send me the data breach logs that they had collected, she didn't know. Her answer was to just wait until the purchase pops up in their system. She said that that may take a few days. She said that she would be personally contacting me afterwards.
So now not only did I confirm the data breach with actual software but I also had to open a remote session with my phone and give them my payment information. So whoever is getting my data has the new payment information and had remote access to my phone. She had no solution for this.
After the remote session that I had with their tech support (2+hours) I can no longer access any of my apps on my devices. The login says that both my username and password are invalid.
The data breach has also extended to my private encrypted email account which I pay for monthly and have had for years. This was because their technicians asked me to provide my other email address and to login from there.
Thanks McAfee for the additional breach of my data.
