He started out with Snap Circuit kits, has now graduated to solderless breadboards and soon soldering. Has a few very interesting circuits to hold his interest. It would have been better if the circuit images should be larger- I like to copy them, and have my grandson breadboard each diagram using a yellow highlighter to mark when he finishes one connection. Still, there's also a lot of tutorial information which I can supplement with things like truth tables for the logic circuits (yeah, I know, advanced for an 8-year old but that's where he's at right now). 5 stars, wish I could find one that's even more advanced.
My kids love this book and it has pretty simple, but amazing projects in them!
My grandson and I like to tinker with electronics. We have several books that start out with the basics and then jump to "magic happens and here's the finished product" with all the intermediate steps left out. This book is a good step by step book with fun illustrations and helpful text. There are a lot of easy projects to keep your interest while you build knowledge. Worthwhile book!
A book for middle- to high school- students. The projects are well illustrated and the directions are alright. This book, unlike others in this genre, looks for ways to keep projects cheap. I really appreciated that. But, there are inconsistencies in the directions and it seems like some projects were not as well thought through as others.
Fun book and easy read, especially for adults as well.
I opened my package and it was covered In Something white I can only assume it was lotion. đ
I purchased this book for my 6-year-old son. We're just on the second project, but he's enjoying the book.
Here's what I like:
- breakdown of concepts
- approachable material for beginners
- reads like a textbook, but not as boring!
Here's what I'd like to see
- quizzes at the end of each project
- more product alternatives if suggestions are unavailable
Some of the item numbers were no longer available through the supplier. That made it a little tough to decide what substitute to purchase, especially since I have no experience with creating engineering projects!
Overall, I would highly recommend this book.
This would be a great textbook option for an intro to engineering class in a middle or high school. Very robust and well-organized.
Don`t let the naming of the book judge you. I think the book works really well for everyone interested
in understanding electronics.
The book is really comprehensive, and lets you start out easy with basic electronics from theory to
applications. You can start out easy with a battery and some wires, and the book will gradually take you
to soldering and even some bits and bytes in digital electronics.
I think the book will keep you busy for some while, and act as a good reference later on. Also the figures and
illustrations in the book are really nice!
I bought this book for my 12-year-old nephew a couple of months ago, and he loves it! He's already built many of the projects all on his own. I've also been looking through it, and the author explains the concepts in a really straight-forward way that even I can understand (and this topic is totally new to me). I recommend this book for both adults and kids.

This book, although misleadingly named, is a helpful resource for children learning soccer. It provides advice on moves, positions, and strategies, making it a great read for beginner coaches or parents. While some reviewers found the content too simple, others appreciated its bite-sized format and basic yet informative chapters. Overall, it is a recommended book for young soccer players and their coaches.
