  • Reads like a text book

Listening to a podcaster and bought on their recommendation, but was disappointed when it arrived.
It reads like a text book, and is way too long. Like the author needed to hit a minimum page count by the publisher or something. Would not recommend this unless you are an English major or something.

  • Arduous and readable.

I liked it a lot and found it challenging to the point where I read the whole thing and enjoyed it. I recommend it to most people who are literate. I gave it four out of five because it satisfied my taste for reading.

  • Something needed for a stroke survivors.

I have lost a lot of past knowledge. But could at least learn commas before returning to the government world. And learn a bit of French.

I let someone borrow this book, and I haven't seen it since I loaned it. I really enjoy reading, and I learned so much the first time I read this book two years ago. Some people are saying it's common sense or not revelatory, but I would disagree. I don't believe I've ever received any instruction or a conversation about how to truly delve into a book to uncover all its secrets. I'm sure there's a nugget of wisdom in this book for everyone. You can't walk away from it without having learned something - I recommend it highly.

  • Most important book to read if you want to learn how to read!

This classic book has helped me share with students for the past 15 years all the nuances, tips, and tricks to learning how to read and learn information from any source. The addition of Syntopic Reading was a huge paradigm shift in how to leverage information in the most efficient manner! I highly recommend this book if you want to really understand how to take newspaper articles, magazine articles, white papers, books of all kinds and any other reading you have to do, apart to glean the most information you need from them all!
