The hotel offers excellent food and a variety of amenities, including an indoor swimming pool and a tennis court. It is situated in a peaceful and scenic environment, perfect for walks and bike tours. However, some guests have complained about the dated decor and unpleasant smells in certain rooms.

This was an extremely suboptimal experience. The hotel is very dated and the room stank of cigarettes and sweat. We had to open the door for hours to clear the smell out. The bed was very uncomfortable. It was really saggy in the middle and felt like a cot bed. The restaurant had very poor vegan options. Dinner was a few chopped up vegetables in a mystery sauce. Breakfast was cucumber and tomato. We really didn't enjoy our stay.
Had a nice stay with the family, but absence of fridge spoiled everything. Reception was kind to offer their fridge, but it is still not a solution. Authors of the fridge ban are invited to travel with 2-3 children wailing up at night and asking for food or milk.
The hotel is located in Wolfheze. A very small town, not even a supermarkt. The nature around the hotel is lovely! Lots of possibilities for walks, runs or a bike tour. The hotel has plenty of parkingspace. The rooms are a bit outdated, but spacious and clean. We had a room on the ground floor + terrace. That was was not clean. There was even a used teabag on the floor! The indoor pool is nice. And we enjoyed our dinner (in our room). Staff is friendly. Breakfast buffet was nice. Unfortunately around 9.30 there was not a lot of bread. And the jar with orange juice was empty. We had a nice stay. The hotel just needs a little more attention to detail.
In the high season even the employees could not handle even the simplest things (ie when asked for fork and/or knive). Forgotten or ignored was I. And thatâs a pity, because this hotel is okay. The swimming pool is fun and the tranquility is best known for this slightly 70âs hotel.
One of the many options in the Veluwe area, but has its own unique flavour and options. Good location, 30 mins walk from Wolfheze train station and during daytime regular bus service (not Sunday). Magical walking area, with lots of sprengen (artificial well-based brooks) cutting through the hills and also heather fields and of course WW2 history. Good dinner restaurant with upgrade to 3-course half board dinner for 32.50 pp which is more or less proper value. We had a Comfort room with terrace, also offered with balcony, the standard rooms lack balcony and might not really be worth their price. In general hunt for bargains; official price is 4-star but value is closer to 3-stars. Nice average size hotel pool and sauna with garden view. Breakfast decent but in variety really 3-star. Room okay, modern bathroom; pillows a bit too soft and a heating system with learning curve (put on 25' or more to get it working at all). The 'hotel info' is purely online and should get better heating instructions.âŚ
Very nice hotel to stay out of city, and relax by the forest. Calm, peaceful and pleasant. Price is cheap relative to service and atmosphere. I would suggest for anyone who is having a short stay in holland for business or leasure
2nd visit in ten years, very helpful staff nice food and comfy rooms excellent location to visit the surrounding areas of note make sure you get an electric bike!good parking with nice facilities if you need a break
Just returned home after a stay here. The hotel is situated far from anywhere so we had to eat in the hotel. No complaints about the food but it was very expensive. âŹ13.50 for a cheeseboard of 4 small pieces of cheese and 4 finger sized pieces of bread. The public rooms were OK although when I leaned on the bar to pay my bill it was very sticky. The bedrooms however were not cleaned particularly well, a glass was left in our room for the duration of the stay and someone in our group complained that their bath wasnât cleaned. Then on top of all that no hot water for 24 hours. Also the rooms were very hot even with a fan, admittedly it was a hot period but we were surprised there was no air conditioning. The restaurant seemed to be understaffed, We ordered drinks which didnât arrive, only two girls on duty it appeared, Julia was our waitress and she was very pleasant and helpful. Wonât be recommending this hotel.âŚ
We stayed at this hotel August bank holiday while on a battlefield tour. room was comfortable, clean but very warm even with doors to balcony open. Breakfast was a good continental choice but cooked breakfast was boiled eggs, omelette bacon and grilled tomatoes and pancakes.because the hotel is quite a distance from anywhere we ate in the hotel in the evening although the food was very good choice and portion sizes could have been better we found it quite expensive to eat there. It was a bonus having a pool but think it could have been cleaner black marks on tiles all around pool also changing area very strange layout toilet within this area so anyone changing locks door no one can use toilet. Not ideal when children using pool also no signage as to where things were. Reception staff excellent restaurant staff helpful and nice. All in all a very good experience.âŚ
Stayed at this hotel on a Leger Battlefield tour in July. Tour was excellent, accommodation was abysmal. Very small room - could stand in the middle of the room and touch both sides .There was a bed, limited hanging space plus a hook on the wall, no shelf space, a small desk with a TV and a lamp which partially obscured the TV. We experienced record temperatures. Unfortunately there was no air conditioning. There was a small top-hinged window which by its very nature automatically swung closed. There was a piece of scrap metal on the window sill which I assumed was intended to prop open the window so I did have fresh air, albeit warm fresh air. Minimal toiletries in the bathroom. A shower gel dispenser for both the basin and shower. Unfortunately concealed behind shower curtain and only discovered after a hot water only shower. No safe in the bedroom which I would expect in a 4* hotel. Buffet dinner was bland and expensive. Recommend the restaurant adjacent to the railway station â-15-20 minutes walk â where we enjoyed a pleasant meal at a far more reasonable cost. Breakfast was OK â crusty bread which went well with the cheese / cold meat selection. One final word of warning. When I checked out I thought I was paying my account in Euros. Only subsequently did i realise that they had converted it to sterling without my knowledge, obviously at an inferior rate â so be warned. I do not know what the criteria are for a 4* hotel in Holland but it certainly wasnât my experience. âŚ
