  • Some good info

    I feel the book was very basic . My biggest take away from the book was to hire a consult. I did visit her site and her documents are expensive as well . I wish I had a book that was state specific, in my state I have to have a location when applying for licensing .

    • Not worth the money!

      Save your $14 and buy a book with some substance. This book is so tiny it is laughable. The index with the licensing bodies for group homes in all 50 states is literally half the book. This “book” is just bait for the author’s consulting business, which you will sorely need if this is all you have to go on.

    • Its a good cheap intro book for someone brand new to the subject.

      Not a long book but worth the money if you are new to the subject and need some basic info. Best thing is its written by someone who started from scratch so its helpful for someone with no idea how to start. Points out some errors newbies can try to aviod.

      This is a great book. An easy read and is a great guide for someone interested in starting a group home but doesn't know where to start. It also includes a list of phone numbers for every state to get you started. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a sense of direction.

      This guide was very helpful. I've been going stir crazy on how to start a irrational personal care home for adults for months. The first thing I did was look for a home to buy ...which was the worst first step Yalonda accused against! Thank you. I truly needed this. :)
