The app has also lost its seamless integration with Apple TV app. Users are unhappy with the decision to create a new app instead of updating HBO Max. The new blue colorway has received mixed reactions. Some users find the app terrible, while others like the content and design.Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies

Tried to set up this new HBO that I had with DirecTv, can’t even get on! It keeps saying “error” and bounces me off the app. It never should’ve been changed!!! Absolutely worthless and useless.
Why would they make us download a new app and price everything higher? Why would they add a bunch of shows I didn’t want? There’s a reason I subscribed to HBO and not Discovery - we wanted HBO content. MAX just adds unnecessary fluff. Looking at all the new content it’s so much random content just because of a merger that didn’t need to happen. What a shame.
I love the new Max App! Like everyone else I initially thought this was pointless but I was surprised to see the app setup was identical to HBO Max but the app seems to run much smoother and faster.
I was skeptical about Max, but then I opened it and wow!! So organized, so easy to navigate, and such great content all in one place!! Call me a maxxinista I’m hooked!
Signed in with my credentials on AppleTv and nothing was there. None of my saved list items, no profiles, no watch history. Nothing.
It’s especially annoying when apps don’t display the original air date of a tv series episode or tell you when the next one will air. “2023” doesn’t mean diddly squat. If I have to google it, your UX is worthless. I’m not gonna sign in just to see if it is there yet or not. I have allll the apps and can watch elsewhere.
The developers should have taken used the App Groups entitlement to share data between multiple apps written by the same development team. This was introduced almost 9 years ago, in iOS 8.
The app itself is terrible. $19.99 a month and HDR doesn’t even work at all. The video player isn’t the iOS one, even after admitting this mistake with HBO Max. Getting around the app is a mess as it jumps to whatever spot it wants to randomly. There’s so many more problems too. Just a purely terrible attempt at merging two apps that worked perfectly well.
Downloaded the app, I was logged in and it was fine. Not an hour later it kicks me out, won’t let me login with my provider, and when I try online says I’m logged in somewhere else. There was nothing from with the old all. HBO needs to stop going through these dumb name changes. It’s ridiculous. From HBO, to HBO go, HBO max, now Max. It’s stupid
Off to a terrible start. Having to sign in multiple times via QR code, saying I’m good to go, asking me to sign in again. Repeat.
so annoying that hbo is doing this change … a matter of time to see what all this is about; pro an increase or two different membership fees

Some had their luggage lost or delayed, experienced flight cancellations, or were removed from their flights without explanation. However, others appreciate the airline's efficient mobile app, good flights, and caring personnel. Several reviewers vow to switch to other airlines.
