This book was recommended to me by our principal. It reminds me of the work of Barbara Coloroso, but improves on her book “kids are worth it” by having concrete and actionable advice to implement instead of just abstract philosophy. Love this book, have found its advice effective with my three kids.

I just finished reading the book and I wished I had read it sooner! It’s a short book, but it covers all the practical tips and strategies you need to know to avoid conflicts with your toddlers at home. I’ve used some of the techniques discussed in the book in the last few weeks and I’m already seeing the results. It’s much easier to show my love to my daughter when everything is peaceful. Strongly recommended to new parents!

This is the BEST book I’ve read on parenting! Truly targets main issues (ourselves) and helps you deal with normal kid related issues. It’s like a two in one book. Parenting and self help 😉!

I'm a preschool teacher. I read this book because I was struggling with some of my kids and I was desperate. Turns out I had already been trying all these methods and they weren't working. It was a complete waste of money.

I have read and started so many different parenting books before I was recommended this book on a mom's group. This book is AMAZING! It focuses on 7 "powers" of self control that deal directly with 7 different discipline techniques. The author does a great job relating personal thoughts and actions to how those thoughts and actions affect our parenting. I feel like this book is not really bogged down with personal opinions and stories like many of the other parenting books I've read. This book is perfectly crafted in that it flows really well from one idea to the next and you can tell that the author is not only passionate, but also knowledgeable about the source material. I have already recommended this book to a friend and will continue to recommend this book to others as my go to parenting book. I am so glad I found this book!!!!

I love this book. I keep it out as a reminder for the ways I want to be a parent. It's hard to break the ways you were raised, but it's doable and this book is the perfect resource for that.

Our school recommended this book to parents a couple of years ago when they implemented conscious discipline practices. The title put me off for a long time, but I finally got around to reading this and am so glad I did!

This book offers great solutions and we love what we are learning. We are helping raise three of our grandsons and this book has given us tools we did not have when we were just parents. It is truly a must have if you want to give your child understanding and guidance.

Wonderful book, I haven’t had a chance to sit down and read this book in it’s entirety, but in each portion that I read I learn insightful parenting advice.

A must read... for all humans. Not just parents.
You can’t effectively teach what you haven’t yourself mastered, and you can’t give away what you don’t have. Brilliant.
How can we possibly expect better behavior, thought processing, communication, and interactions from our children if we don’t model the same healthy behavior. Yell, speak with sarcasm, explode with frustration... teach a child to tell, speak with sarcasm, explode with frustration. Or... Maintain composure in times of frustration... teach a child to maintain composure in times of frustration.
This book is for the parent’s healthy approach to life as much as it is for the child’s. Brilliantly simple but also extraordinarily challenging...
But certainly life changing. How different might the world be if we all ascribed to this approach for our own lives and for parenting.

Huge fan of Conscious Discipline. Becky Bailey and this book are amazing. Recommend this to parents, educator's and anyone who works with kids.

Worth it. Do it for 3 months and you will start noticing the difference. I am having many amazing moments, especially when he uses it on me🥰

I trained in Conscious Discipline when I worked at a preschool in college and loved the discipline approach. This book was a must for my husband and I when we had a child. We love the perspective. It focuses on staying calm and being disciplined as the parent and changing one's mindset to one of teaching out of love. It makes such a difference in the way I respond to my daughter, and the way she behaves in return. Thank you Becky Bailey!
