Love this book as it is easy to comprehend and follow! Thanks
The concept of this book is good, but it's poorly executed. Save your money. Not recommended.
I think nobody edited this new version. There are a number of errors. The answers provided at the back does not match what in the main text, making learning confusing. I will not recommend it.
The explanation is interesting for middle/high school level students.
I really enjoyed the first few chapters, my favorite part was when the author talked about tax deductions. However the last 2 chapters were boring, but I'll give it 5 stars for the overall quality.
essential simplistic book for brushing up on accounting. Provides insight for the layman and can teach and show the basic accounting principles for small business owners and novices alike. Comprehensively put together and comparatively created with a down to earth upstart of a lemonade stand. Easy step by step guidance to teaching accounts receivable, assets, liabilities, and equity. Everything is discussed here and gives the reader a very simple step by step explanation to bookkeeping and accounting. Very enjoyable for the CPA or the novice.
I was given this book as required reading by management; I'll have to update the review once I get through it. But right away, I'm frustrated. It expressly presumes in chapter one that we all had the same suburban 1970s middle class upbringing, and pushes the point repeatedly. For example: "Let yourself slowly go back in time....You can't wait for the final bell to ring one last time - then you'll be free! Free to run out the door with all your friends! You're young and safe and eager. Everything is possible. You feel creative, curious, and excited, and know your success in life is absolutely assured." Really?
Easy to understand
This book is a very good start for beginner or inspiring accounts. Gives the reader a good overview of basic accounting practices, and you can begin to use the information immediately.
Purchased for my kiddos to help them understand accounting Love it
I bought this book to get a good idea on what accounting is and wasn’t disappointed. It explained everything without it being too complicated and now it’s getting a bit complicated but still interesting to learn. The do-it-yourself balance sheets and income statements help you learn what it means to work with money as an accountant. Now I hope I can take what I learned for when I start school.
The explanations in this are great
This is a great book that covers important aspects of accounting from a perspective kids can understand. I think it is not likely they would get this exposure unless they either start a business out of school or take an accounting class in college.
The one issue I had with the book was some of the pages were printed in a way that I could not read them. See picture.
great product, excellent service
This book is a great accounting refresher or a guide for someone new to accounting. The examples make the topics interesting and relevant. We use this book for new employees at work and everyone loves it!
This book needs to be re-edited. It gives information needed to complete a financial statement but they put the statement on the next page, so you're constantly flipping pages back and forth. It's difficult enough for me to remember the dollar amounts, I don't need the extra hurdle of flipping a page back and forth ten times for each exercise. There are supposed to be pictures of the completed financial statements in the back of the book for reference but many are missing...that is ridiculous...I obviously need the extra help or I wouldn't have bought the book! Also, I know it's a lemonade stand so small numbers are going to be involved but how about using a bigger variety of numbers so it makes more sense? There are a lot more numbers in the world besides 3,4,5,10, and 20.
I am in my second year of earning an associate's in accounting, and I bought this book to supplement what we are learning in class. The primary issue is that not all answers are listed in the back. Please have every solution for every journal entry. I liked the book because it broke down the terms that it is easy enough for a novice accountant.
While this book does make understanding accounting very easy to understand, it is painstakingly annoying to read. I am using it to teach my 10th grader and when I pre-read it I want to cross half of it out. When the kid goes to the store to buy lemons I don’t need a page about dusting off his bike, not running into dogs, etc etc etc.
This book helped me understand some accounting concepts that I was having a difficult time trying to understand. I found the resource I had been looking for. I think this is a great book for beginners to get a solid understanding of accounting. I also enjoy the authors' sense of humor.
Muy buen material
This text is the best introduction to accounting for the secondary school student. It requires hard study and you’ll have to read it several times and participate with the authors by completing the exercises. If you do so, you’ll be on your way to being a great accountant, especially if you start you’re own business using the lessons learned.
I did not pay enough attention in my Accounting courses for my Associate's degree. I got low B's in the class, and a lot of that was dumb luck. Now that I'm going for a Bachelor's, I figured I should work out how to do this stuff. This book is incredibly helpful. It helped me to understand a lot of the concepts that I struggled with in the dry Accounting college textbook. For example, capitalization versus expensing really confused me in school, but I finally understand the difference now and feel confident that I could go back and improve my grades in college.
My only problem with it is the way it treats you as a reader. This book reads like they're talking to you like you're a kid running a lemonade stand. I understand that's the point, but I feel like they could ease off of the childish rhetoric a bit when they're asking questions.
Otherwise, for me, this book was fantastic and incredibly helpful.
this book tells you about accounting at a 5-grade level and it's a nice sense the college textbooks are ever so confusing I would give this but a 9/10 for how simple it is to understand and do work problems as you read along the chapters would recommend.
It's a good quick summary of what I learned in my early days of senior high.
I always wanted to understand and control my engineering business financial. This book help you understand the main concepts and you can go from there. It is written in a very fun way. I love it.
Not everyone can write, you may know the subject, but being able to put it down for others is an art. These authors have it. Love the book
This is what the book came in like, I had to reread description to make sure I didn't buy the used version which would be understandable but no where does it say used. Very disappointing
Makes it simple to learn but covers complex principles.
Bought for my daughter who is learning accounting. Has been a real nice book, got through all of it. Learned some key concepts such as how to roll up the earnings from one week to the next from the balance sheet, learning that the net profit from the income statement always matches the earnings week to date on the balance sheet, etc.. I noticed on page 50 for total owners equity is has an already printed $15, when it should be an already printed $32. Also, on page 173 for Purchases (12+4+20+20+20+30) on the income statement I cannot find the number 4 for purchases anywhere on prior income statements. It appears to me that it should be the number 24 according to my math, not 4. It’s been maddening trying to find the $4 when it’s obviously not there. So, it must be another numerical error in the book. Even though it has a few numerical errors, it did a fine job with the basics. I’ll add it would have been helpful to have a mention of debits and credits, but overall a good book.
This is easy to read and understand. Learn so much about accounting from this book. A must buy for anyone to want to learn about accounting painless and broken down for anyone to understand.

This set may look pretty but it does not fit my average sized daybed appropriately and the cotton is coming out from between the seems. Not a great start for me, as I like to have a little bit of weight to my quilts. My last one, which was also light weight, had more filling to it and felt like a gentle hug. This kinda feels like just another added sheet. Definitely great for summer, if you want the look but not any additional heat.
