  • A really nice location with friendly staff

    Initially we had some problems with our reservation, because it was not clear that we would bring a dog. Front desk staff was very helpful and we ended up with a really beautiful room. The stay was superb, but the Restaurant staff was somewhat unprofessional (e.g. the waiter should not empty the last bit of a red wine bottle into the glass, because of the depot). Eventhough the German border is just a few km away, communicating with the staff in German can be a problem!

  • Lovely quiet setting with modern rooms

    We had a very spacious room on the ground floor with patio doors.The room was very clean and staff helpful and friendly However, we found the room a bit too stark, very long and thin, it would have benefited from a large rug which may have helped with the echoing in the room. The bed was very soft but there was a small blue light on the headboard next to the light switch which stayed on all night giving off a blue glow . I would stay again as it was good value, clean and a good breakfast.

    The room was great : spacious and nicely decorated. The breakfast was delicious and various. The welcome was warm. And the landscape was wonderfull ! A fridge is just missing in the room, otherwise it was perfect.

    We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is surrounded by fields and forests; lovely location and quiet. We had a very spacious room with a great view on the forest. Not a sound to be heard, so we slept like babies in a very comfortable bed. Lots of storage space; huge tv; coffee and tea making facilities. No mini bar. Very nice bathroom; very big shower for 2 persons and a jacuzzi. Toilettries available. A few minor technical problems which we mentioned the next morning (saturday) to the staff member at the reception desk. Amongst others the light above the entry of our room did not work. Unfortunately the staff member present at that time did not believe us. Only after showing a photograph of the light and the switches were we believed. This issue was solved the same day. The…

  • Fairytale scenery

    The hotel is located in very fine coutryside and woodlands. There is a great walking circuit (6 kilometers) signposted by the hotel. The rooms look out over meadows with sheep and cows. Good rooms, good breakfast. What we did not like: erraneously the hotel charged us twice, the refunding took 2 weeks.

    We stayed here for a few nights in an executive suite with a lovely terrace overlooking the forest and grounds. There was an unpleasant smell of drains in the bathroom which didn’t give the best impression when first entering the room. Nice size bedroom and lounge area, but the beds had the appearance of metal framed hospital beds. Vey comfortable though, and electrically adjustable too. Main criticism of the room was the lack of a minibar /fridge. Others have commented here on the same subject. The hotel let us use the fridge at reception instead, which was an adequate, if not ideal, solution. Dinner on half board was an outstanding experience. Plenty of choice each evening, and all food to a very high standard. Nice wine list too. Worthy of special mention were our servers…

  • Lovely venue

    We had a very nice stay in Holthurnse Hof. The room is nice and roomy. The big opening doors to the (semi) private terrace provide a great view over the woods and valley. The breakfast buffet is delicious. A great way to start your day. The personnel was very friendly. There is plenty of closet space, but no shelves to put your clothing on. Adding some shelves would be a great improvement. The room had no air-conditioning. Adding a little desk fan might be a good idea to add to the room. Surprisingly a clock was missing.

  • Rest, relaxation, nature and excellent service

    A fairly large hotel, but very quietly located. No burden from other guests. The room was very luxurious with even an additional sitting room. Giant choice at breakfast, for all tastes. Also the dinner was excellent, only the waiting times were sometimes on the verge. Friendly staff, hygienic rooms, parking and internet, ... Recommended!!!!

    Location excellent good. Rooms big and clean , two televisions in room. Beautifull landscape for walking and cycling. Hotel was fully booked and so the restaurant at dinnertime. We decided to have dinners at other restauraurants.

  • one of the best

    Big, clean, surrounded by trees, good breakfast, easy access. You can choose rooms at the ground level as you can have an exist to the backyard with a table outside, chairs and beautiful views to the huge garden and trees.
